My friend and I are making an made-up country. We are going to write stories about it. They might become a book one day. This is going to be so much fun for me and her.

The End of the Year

It is near the end of the year and I am very excited. Very very excited. At the end of the year, my school has a carnival. The carnival has lots of fun games and lots of prizes. I remember that one year they had a game where you had to throw a ping-pong ball into these bottles and if you did, you got a fish. Another reason that I am excited is that the end of the school year means that summer is going to start. I can't wait to start swimming and playing. Here are my top 3 things I like about summer:
- The swimming pool is open.
- I don't have to get up so early anymore.
- I can spend more time with my friends.
I can't wait for summer to start!

St. Patty's Day
Everyone should be so excited for St. Patrick's Day. I'm looking forward to eating corned beef and pinching my brothers when they don't wear green. The most important thing, though, is that we honor St. Patrick, which this day was named after. Patrick lived in Rome, but then he and his family moved to England because of his father's job. Ireland attacked and he was brought as a slave. He wasn't treated unfairly, but he was very lonely and wanted to return to his family. He decided to pray and he fell asleep. While he was asleep, a voice came to him telling him that he should escape and a boat would be waiting for him. Patrick guessed it was God and did as he was told. When he came back to England, his family wasn't there anymore and the city was destroyed. Patrick decided to focus on his religion, which was Christianity, more. He lived a peaceful life and learned much. The same voice came to him again and told him to teach the Irish about his religion. To prepare for this, Patrick learned about Christianity for 10 more years. He went to Ireland and taught them. Some people put him in jail, but he succeeded and built a church. Now, most Irish people are Christian and we celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Seussicle Jr.
The thing people in my school are talking about most is the Suessicle Jr. They are going to act out stories or a selection of pages in Dr. Seuss books. One thing many people don't know about Dr. Seuss is that his real name is Theodore Geisel. So, now you know what people are talking about when they talk about how great Theodore Geisel's books are. It will be a great show that I'm sure many people will want to go to.
Visitor's Day
Everyone has been excited about Visitors' Day this week. My brothers brought our grandparents to school. They said that the french toast and sausage that they had with our grandparents was marvelous! In Visitors' Day, your visitor(s) get to see your classroom and have breakfast with you. The only thing they didn't like about Visitors' Day was:
1. Nothing!
But they loved the food. They won't stop talking about it! It is absolutely tasty!
